Traffic barriers are used to separate pedestrians, vehicles and work areas, to create temporary routes, or to support safer movement around road works, construction sites, utilities projects and public access areas.
For general roadworks and street works, Chapter 8 road barriers are usually the starting point. For more demanding layouts, exposed areas or longer term separation, heavy-duty or water-filled traffic barriers may be more suitable.
Water-filled barriers are useful where temporary separation needs more weight once the barrier is filled. They are often used for longer runs, traffic separation, temporary route control and more substantial site layouts.
Barrier lamps are useful where barriers need to remain visible in low light conditions, night works or temporary road layouts.
Where barriers are used in bulk, a road barrier stillage can help store and move them more easily. Whilst using barrier stillages has its benefits in terms of storage, the stillages also ensure that your plastic barriers are less likely to get lost at the end of site clearance.
