Scaffolding

HERMEQ supplies scaffolding parts for tube and fitting and system scaffolds. Timber and steel scaffold boards come in several lengths to form load bearing platforms for work at height: the timber boards are machine stress graded, and the steel boards are made from pre-galvanised steel. Galvanised steel scaffold tube comes in 4mm and high yield grades, in standard lengths. Couplers join tube to tube at right angles or at any angle, prop bracing couplers clamp scaffold tube to adjustable steel props, and base plates sit under the standards to spread their load. Scaffold towers, for freestanding access, are in their own range.

HERMEQ supplies scaffold ladders and temporary stairs for getting people on and off scaffolds, slabs, roofs and embankments. The range covers steel scaffold ladders, professional and industrial aluminium extension ladders, combination ladders and roof ladders. For routes that carry more foot traffic, it adds modular steel and lightweight aluminium temporary stairs and spiral stair towers. Ladder beams, access gates, ladder guards and stair treads go with them, so the access to a scaffold, from the ground to the top lift, comes from one range.

HERMEQ's scaffolding stillages and storage equipment hold scaffold boards, tube, couplers and base plates in the yard, on site and on the lorry between them. Post stillages and tube stackers keep scaffold tube stacked and off the ground. Steel fitting bins, often bought alongside stillages, hold couplers and other fittings for storage and transport. Solid steel crane lift goods carrying cages move materials across a site by crane or forklift. The range also covers solid and mesh storage bins, post pallets, chute front pallets and a foldable wire mesh pallet cage for the small parts and mixed loads a scaffold contract produces.

HERMEQ supplies scaffold sheeting for enclosing scaffolds on construction, refurbishment and maintenance work, in grades matched to the weather a site sees and the work carried out behind the sheet. The standard Monarflex Scaffband and clear sheets are weather resistant polythene, made for low rise jobs in built up urban areas with normal weather. Flame retardant sheeting is fire retardant LDPE with a maximum life of three months on site. Acoustic scaffold sheeting is fitted to scaffolding to cut noise from the works, and printed marketing sheeting carries a company's branding to a bespoke design across a street facing scaffold. Scaffold debris netting, catchfans and corrugated galvanised sheets for temporary scaffold roofs complete the range.

HERMEQ scaffolding accessories are the parts that set up a safe work zone on and around the scaffold. The Temporary Aluminium Stairway is light enough to carry into place and gives the workforce stepped access to platforms at height. Scaffold lights mark tube and poles in poor light, so people see the structure before they reach it and accidents are avoided. ReadyFix transoms hold scaffold boards in place and cut the equipment and labour needed to erect and strike a lift. The 6 tonne base jack is the traditional levelling option for system scaffolding, and the trestle equipment turns builders trestles into a guarded platform for work at height.

HERMEQ supplies a growing range of edge protection and fall prevention systems that guard against one of the most serious risks on a construction site: a fall from an open edge. Each system puts a physical barrier between the people working at height and the drop, so the risk is controlled at the edge itself and does not depend on personal equipment. Mesh edge protection barriers on posts make up most runs. Sheet pile clamps, stair guard safety posts, SG4 guardrail feet, aluminium staging with handrails and pontoon barriers cover the excavations, stairwells, walkways and waterside edges where a standard run does not fit.

Mobile scaffold towers give a guarded platform for working at height, and for any task longer than a few minutes they are a better choice than a ladder. The deck gives room to move, space to set down tools and materials, and both hands free for the work.The core of the range is the single width and double width aluminium towers. They are built to carry people, tools and materials and to stand level on uneven ground, where adjustable legs and tower stabilisers steady the base. The range also covers the one-person MiTower access towers, a tower for stairwell work and a modular steel stair tower.

HERMEQ supplies fall arrest equipment for people working at height on scaffolding and towers, formwork decks, steel frames and roofs. The core of the range is full body harnesses, from single point to 4-point, and fall arrest blocks, whose internal brake halts a falling worker and slows the descent. Around them sit shock absorbing, restraint and work positioning lanyards, anchors and connectors for concrete, steel and rebar, horizontal lifelines and portable fall arrest posts. Tripods and davits cover confined space entry and rescue.
