Geotechnics
We supply a range of Geotechnics products for soil protection. This ranges from Weed Control Membranes to Root Barriers. Geotextiles are used as a general-purpose separator for use under site access roads and areas of hard standing – it provides separation, filtration and protection functions. Geomembranes are available and used to control fluid migration to protect our environment and water resources during projects. Geo-composite Drainage is used to provide effective drainage in a wide variety of applications from highway embankments to residential foundations. Root & Weed Barriers are made from robust material and will resist the penetration of aggressive rooting plants and trees – chemical-free, long-lasting protection of underground drainage, sewage, piping and cable systems, paved areas and buildings from root invasion damage. Erosion Control includes a range of mats available to provide surface protection and reduce erosion before vegetation is established. Our Paviours provide cellular paving for all levels of traffic where a structurally sound, well-drained base has to be installed in places such as yards and car parks.

Geotextile Membranes
Geotextile membrane is a permeable fabric laid between the subgrade and the stone above it, most often as a general-purpose separator under site access roads and areas of hardstanding. It does three jobs in the ground: it separates aggregate from soil, filters water while holding fine particles back, and protects the layers around it. HERMEQ supplies woven and non-woven geotextiles for this work, from Terram and Lotrak grades to heavy woven polypropylene for roads and platforms, together with fabrics made for drainage, reinforcement and weed control.

Grass Pavers & Gravel Grids
Grass pavers are cellular paving for pedestrians and all levels of traffic, laid where a structurally sound, well drained base is to be installed in places such as yards, car parks and access roads. Grass and gravel areas that carry heavy traffic or footfall become rutted and muddy over time.The range stabilises and reinforces those areas and keeps a grassed or gravel finish. It covers truck paving for HGVs, coaches and forklifts, recycled plastic grass and gravel grids for driveways, paths and car parks, and grass protection mesh that lies on existing turf, so there is a grade for every vehicle from the family car to the laden lorry.

Geogrids
HERMEQ supplies geogrid for stabilising weak soils and strengthening the granular layers of roads, car parks, haul roads and working platforms on construction and civils projects. The range covers biaxial geogrids alongside Tensar TriAx and InterAx systems. Laid beneath the aggregate, the grid interlocks with the compacted stone, which confines the material, spreads the load from traffic over a wider area of subgrade and limits movement within the sub-base.The result is higher bearing capacity, less rutting and settlement, and a firmer foundation on soft or variable ground.

Geomembranes & Pond Liners
HERMEQ geomembranes are impermeable liners that control the movement of water and other fluids in civil engineering and environmental projects. The range covers PP, LLDPE and Proflex polymer sheets, EPDM rubber pond lining and a high visibility marker membrane. The containment liners are made to stay flexible, resist puncture and stretch with the ground beneath them. They line ponds, lagoons, canals and dams, hold back solid and liquid waste, and form a barrier layer on contaminated land during construction and land reclamation. Rolls and panels come in several widths and thicknesses, from narrow rolls for trenches and tank wrapping to wide sheets for open basins.

Geocomposite Drainage
Geocomposite drainage collects water from the surrounding ground and carries it along a plastic core to an outlet. It is used on road embankments, in tunnels, in engineered landfills and around residential foundations.The geocomposite drainage net is the thin format. It has an extruded HDPE net core with a non-woven polypropylene geotextile bonded to both faces, and that filter keeps soil out of the core. Techdrain is the cuspated HDPE board, with a deeper core and higher flow. Techdrain Fin25 is a fully wrapped strip for fin drains and the passive venting of gases and liquids.

Weed Barrier & Root Barrier Membranes
HERMEQ supplies weed barrier and root barrier membranes made to resist penetration by aggressive rooting plants and trees. They give chemical-free protection to underground drainage, sewers, pipes and cable runs, to paved areas and to buildings, where root invasion would otherwise cause damage. The vertical DuPont Plantex root barrier is a coated, non-woven impermeable membrane that stops aggressive roots such as bamboo from spreading, and a permeable root protector is laid flat under paths, drives and green roofs. The weed barriers hold back tough weeds such as couch grass, horsetail and bindweed, and the range includes a UV resistant grade for solar farms.

Erosion Control Matting
Erosion control matting, also called anti erosion matting, protects bare soil at the surface and reduces erosion until vegetation has established. The range covers coir matting, jute mesh, pre-seeded grass seed mats, the Techmat series and synthetic 3D geomats, with grades for drainage ditches, shore and bank protection, areas with rising and falling water levels, and landscaping.Alongside the matting, HERMEQ supplies sediment pollution control products for stormwater run-off from construction sites. Silt pockets, drain guards and pipe socks hold back sediment before it reaches drains and watercourses. Much of the range is made from natural fibres and is biodegradable.

HERMEQ agricultural netting and agrotextiles are technical fabrics, nets and meshes for agriculture, horticulture, construction and landscaping, used to protect crops from birds, insects and weather and to improve the quality of the yield. The ground cover range includes woven and biodegradable weed control membrane in several roll sizes for long-term weed control, moisture conservation and separation of soil from surfacing.
