RB22 Barrier - 50 Mph Crash Tested

The RB22 water filled crash barrier is a resilient and robust barrier, capable of enduring vehicle impact and strong winds with ease.

Where safety is paramount, the RB22 crash barrier can be the difference between life and death. The RB22 barrier focuses on pedestrian safety, making it the smart choice for highway maintenance, roadworks, and any environment where vehicles will be present.

At its heaviest, the RB22 water filled barrier reaches a substantial weight of 600kg. This hefty weight allows the barrier to withstand winds of 78mph and cars travelling up to 50mph upon impact.

The RB22 water filled barriers have passed multiple safety tests before being made available for purchase. Impressively passing MIRA wind tests and Crash Test Approved by TRL, the RB22 is one of the most reliable barriers available.

These water filled barriers can also be used in other industries where health and safety have to be prioritised. The RB22 can also be used in the construction, demolition, and events industries to name but a few.

Practical and simple to use, these water filled barriers implement a well crafted interlocking system that takes advantage of the steel pins used to fasten them in place, ultimately allowing for a quicker setup process.

For situations that require taller barriers to increase the difficulty of intruders climbing over them, the RB22 water filled barriers can be used in partnership with multiple extensions. With various options available, customers can choose between mesh, mesh and hoarding, or solid clad hoarding extensions, adding 1400mm to the original height of the barrier.

If the additional height increase remains unsuitable, there are also 400mm mesh fence extensions available to place on top of the larger extensions.

Alongside the extensions, the water filled barriers can be used in conjunction with the RB22 barrier vehicle gate and the RB22 barrier pedestrian gate.

The RB22 Barrier also comes with the option to purchase a RB22 Fence Extension Connection Set to install your Fence Panel extensions with Fence Posts – each set consists of 2x M10 Bolts and 4x Washers. When installing the fence extensions, we recommend using 2 Connection Sets per post and each barrier requiring a post and one additional post at the end in total to set up. For example, 10 Barriers requires 11 posts meaning you will need 22 Connections Sets to install.

The striking visibility of the RB22 range only further increases the levels of safety provided. Using alternating red and white barriers will make them easily noticeable when passing on foot and in vehicles. The use of bright colours also helps to increase visibility in hazardous weather conditions.

The transportation of these barriers has also been considered during the design process. The RB22 water filled barrier can be stored and transported effortlessly due to the forklift slots at the base of the barrier.

Easy to move, once unloaded at the chosen destination, the empty barriers are light enough to be moved by hand. Two people can move the 60kg barriers without too much hassle, saving time and energy that could be taken advantage of elsewhere.

This factor is impressive, as it allows the RB22 water filled barrier to be used for permanent and semi-permanent purposes without taking too much time to empty and relocate.

When used with the RB22 angle sections, the barriers can be positioned at angles of up to 90°. This is highly beneficial to those using the water filled barriers for roadworks as it allows them to easily follow the road route without taking up additional path space.
