Urban Sign Post Base – Durable, Stable & Recyclable Signage Solution

The Urban Sign Post Base is a heavy-duty, portable base designed to securely hold road signs, traffic management signage, and event wayfinding signs. Manufactured from 100% recycled plastic, this environmentally friendly solution provides superior stability, durability, and ease of deployment, making it ideal for use in urban environments, construction sites, and temporary traffic control setups.

The design of the Urban Sign Base allows for the installation of existing 300mm and 450mm hole centre sign faces when utilising two Urban Sign Posts. Only one post is required when the hole centres are central to the sign face. Larger signs will require two posts.

As standard, the Sign Feet/Sign Base come in black with yellow hi-vis fixings to ensure they stand out in the dark and do not present a trip hazard. The Posts come in yellow, however, we can change the colour to suit your corporate identity or specific requirements for orders over 200 units.

The Urban Sign System is also the most stable sign frame on the market and takes away any requirements for weighting the sign frame with messy sandbags. This non-metallic and non-conductive solution is lighter than steel, reducing the load weight in your vehicle and eliminating scrap value. The Urban Sign Post can also be reinforced by adding more than one base. The bases will only stack one way, which ensures all holes self-align, this then allows the use of multiple bases to create higher stability.  One post can be combined with up to three stacked bases.

Wind Resistance

The standard BS 8442:2015 requires all temporary traffic signs to withstand three different classes of wind speed with the use of a ballast.

Class A: 26.3 m/s (58mph)
Class B: 17.6 m/s (39mph)
Class C: 8.7m/s (19mph)

The Urban Sign System has been tested under strict conditions at the Full Scale Wind Tunnel at Mira to determine the wind speeds it can withstand. Below are the results for the standard sign face range, these results are a guide to the recommended ballast weight for each Wind Class
